I am New to Powerboating - Open to Suggestions (Gorey Nov 2011) I am looking for a boat to share or for someone to share in a craft to be acquired soon - ideal vessel would be twin shaft drive with a fair-to-good performance probably in range of 8-10m and, to keep the budget sensible, is likely to be not-so-new.
I have a UK company developing a new product (Contra Rotating Shaft Drive) which reduces fuel consumption with better handling and I wish to use the boat for further testing and as a sales platform. The system is suitable for retro-fitting and doesn't require any structural changes - it is also easily changed back to the original layout.

18" Vanguard Thunderjet
18" Vanguard Thunderjet.Completely rebuilt last year with over £6K spent. New fiberglass floor this year. Engine (40HP Mercury) is sound with only ~6 hours on it since a full service from Gallichan. Auxiliary 2.3HP Honda with 4 years warranty remaining.
Trailer also completely rebuilt, new winch, wheels, etc. Countless hours spent on complete restoration - all work inspected and approved by Brian Keating. Lots of kit on board: GPS, brand new colour fishfinder, VHF radio, electric & manual bilge pumps, internal/navigation/flood lights, amplifier and waterproof speakers, twin batteries with new switch and voltage meter, all wiring completely redone, etc etc. Great boat for fishing: hits ~25kts, tiny draught, rod holders, lots of space out the back for 3-4 people to fish, but with a cabin to get out the wind/sun.
